TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Troy Trojans softball team is gearing up to face the Florida State Seminoles in a double-header on Tuesday night.
The Trojans (30-9) and the Seminoles (27-12) met earlier this season, and Troy head coach Melanie Davis said her Trojans are anxious for an opportunity to redeem their loss.
“Florida State is a great team, and they managed to get a win against us in a close game at their tournament earlier this season,” Davis said. “We just need to go down there and play all three phases of the game to the best of our ability, and if we do that everything else will fall into place.”
The Trojans and Seminoles were scheduled to face off two weeks ago, but weather forced the rescheduling.
FSU won the last meeting 2-0. Florida State scored a run in the first inning and the sixth inning while holding the Trojans scoreless.
The Seminoles are coming off of a loss against Virginia Tech on Sunday, 2-0. They swept a Saturday double-header against the Hokies for a 2-1 series victory.
Game times are set for 6 and 8 p.m. in Tallahassee. All times are eastern.
