Trojans to Face Jaguars in Late Season Match Up

TROY, Ala. ? The Troy University women's tennis team will try to continue their winning ways when they host in-state rival South Alabama on Tuesday afternoon.
Both the Trojans (10-5, 5-1) and the Jaguars (10-3, 3-0) will enter play with seven match winning streaks. South Alabama enters the match ranked 72nd in the nation by ITA.
Not only are both teams on a roll, but each squad has some impressive individual streaks as well. For Troy, junior Stephanie Vieira has won six straight singles matches and sophomore Leonie Guijt has won five straight. For South Alabama, sophomore Erica Krisan has won nine straight in singles.
Coming into Tuesday's match, not a single Trojan has a losing record in singles play.
The Trojans are led by a trio of seniors. Rawia Elsisi has posted a 7-7 singles record as well as a 7-7 doubles record with Guijt as her partner, all coming in the number one spot. Caroline Joaunin has won seven of her last nine singles matches and has an overall singles record of 9-3. Annabelle Bares comes into Tuesday's match with a 6-4 singles record and a 5-5 doubles record, all with Gabriella Viega as her partner.
The match will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. All home matches are free. Come out and support your Trojans as they try to knock off in-state rival South Alabama.
