TROY, Ala. - The Troy University men's tennis team announced a pair of players will join the program in January, according to head coach Eric Hayes on Monday afternoon.
Luis Henrique Grangeiro and Anas Rouchdi will join the program and be eligible to play immediately in the spring semester, and according to Hayes will challenge for positions and court time.
"These two young men are good players," Hayes said. "They will come in and immediately challenge players for court time, and look to get into the top six. They will be a big lift for our program in a year in which we face some tough opponents."
Grangeiro is a native of Brasilia, Brazil and has been a Troy for a semester and has a career-high ranking in the ITF ranking of 15. He has played in junior events at Wimbledon and the French Open, as well as host of other international events.
Meanwhile, Rouchdi is a native of Rabat, Morocco and has a career-high ranking of 490 in the ITF without playing a full schedule. He has multiple wins over players ranked in the top-100 over his career, and has played Junior Davis Cup for his native country.
The Trojans open the spring season on the road at Alabama State University on January 23.
