Tournament Action Heats Up

The USTA Tennis Classic of Troy is rolling along at full speed, and championship matches are looming in the days to come.
Thursday's action wrapped up round two of the singles main draw action, and the quarterfinals will get started at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
The United States has dominated the singles bracket with four of the remaining eight athletes still left in the tournament.
"This is a great opportunity for students, faculty, the community or anyone around to get out and see some great professional tennis action," Troy tennis coach Eric Hayes said. "It's not everyday you get to just walk in somewhere and watch professional athletes play for free."
On the doubles side of the tournament the semifinals will get rolling on Friday afternoon. The doubles side has more diversity as far as native countries are concerned, but there is no diversity on competition. The stakes have been raised for the semifinals on Friday, and all four teams will be playing hard to get to the finals.
Admission is free to the tournament at the Lunsford Tennis Complex in Troy.
