Trojans Host Family Weekend

This past weekend the Trojan softball program celebrated its annual family weekend.
The families of various players and coaches descended on the Trojan Softball Complex on Friday and Saturday. In all, nearly 50 family members attended, including a few who traveled from as far away as Indiana.
"An integral part of the Troy philosophy, per comments made by Chancellor Hawkins and Athletic Director Steve Dennis, is the family concept," said head coach Melanie Davis.
"We love to integrate that philosophy into our program," Davis said, "and we're always excited about celebrating our families and having them all come together as one big softball family."
The families got to enjoy some on-field action as the Trojans played three exhibition games against community colleges from the area. The families even made it onto the field themselves as they were recognized before the final game of the weekend.
Troy's next fall exhibition game will come on October 14 against Northwest State College at 5 p.m. at the Trojan Softball Complex. Including that game, Troy fans will get four more chances to see their Trojans in action this fall.
