Pair Win Matches in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Aurelien Tave and Branko Weber, the top two players returning in 2009-10 for the Troy University men's tennis program, bounced back from their performances on Friday with victories in the consolation round on Saturday.
Tave bounced back with a straight-set victory over conference foe Alexander Rupsertsson of Louisiana-Lafayette 6-2, 6-2; while Weber bounced back from a Thursday defeat with a straight-set victory over Diego Machuca of Southern Miss 6-3, 6-2.
The only other Trojan in action in singles play on Friday was Bastian Maucher, who was forced to withdraw due to injury. He was replaced by Auburn's Michael Wardell, who promptly won his consolation match on Friday.
Only two doubles teams were in action on Friday for the Trojans, hold over matches from the rain delay on Thursday afternoon. The team of Guilherme Sahadi and Mario Rolemberg won their match in the Round of 32 over the Ole Miss team of Marcell and Chris Thiemann due to a walkover (injury). However, in the Round of 16, the Trojans duo was forced to pull out of the tournament due to an injury.
The only other team remaining in doubles play was the team of Maucher and Tave, and the duo was forced to withdraw from Maucher's injury.
