Championship Time At The Classic

The USTA Tennis Classic of Troy doubles champion will be crowned Saturday morning.

The doubles finale has been set, and the singles championship contenders will be set on following the doubles championship.

The singles side features four North American athletes with three of them calling the United States home. The fourth competitor reigns from above the northern border in Canada.

Upsets headlined Friday's action and only two seeded players remain in the tournaments final four contenders.

"These matches tomorrow will be some of the best competition that you can watch," Troy tennis coach Eric Hayes said. "Athletes come through this tournament every year, and they usually move on and do well if they make it this far in the Troy tournament. I am looking forward to watching these matches myself, and I hope the community will get a chance to stop by too."
