Trojans Fall to Louisiana-Lafayette

MONROE, La. - The Troy University women's tennis team fell to fourth-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette 4-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Sun Belt Conference Tennis Tournament Saturday morning.
The Trojans dropped the doubles point, but picked up a victory at number one doubles when the team of Annabelle Bares and Rawia Elsisi defeated Kim van der Horst and Bridget Marcovich 8-1.
Troy (10-9) picked up their lone singles victory when Bares won at number two 6-1, 6-1 over Myrthe Molenveld. The Trojans fought back in three singles matches, falling 7-5 in three of the losing sets and forcing a third set at number one with Elsisi.
