Trojans Fall to UAB

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University closed out the regular season, falling to 67th-ranked UAB 5-2 at the Lunsford Tennis Center.
The Trojans fell behind 1-0 after the Blazers won the doubles point by winning 2-of-3 matches. UAB won the point with victories at number two and three; however, the number one team of Mario Silva and Bastain Maucher captured an 8-3 victory over UAB's Slawomir Szeremeta and Tyrone Ewels.
In singles play, the Blazers won five of six matches, but the Trojans were able to capture a victory at number four when Maucher defeated Ewels 6-2, 6-3. The Trojans also captured a victory at number when Benjamin Chomette defeated Slawomir Szeremeta 6-1, 6-2.
Troy returns to action next week in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament hosted by Louisiana-Monroe.
