Fujita and Trojans Sink Tide

“This was a great college baseball game,” coach Bobby Pierce said. “Our fans were great and they played a huge part in keeping our players up. These games are fun to coach and they don't happen very often but I am proud of how we responded to everything
Lance Miller singled to center with one out in the tenth starting the drama. Daniel Porter pinch ran for Miller and Charley Williams doubled down the line in left putting runners on second and third. Bart Pettus was walked intentionally setting the stage for Fujita.
“I really liked the match-up with Shohei and their pitcher,” Pierce said. “We have been working with him on the things the pitcher was showing and I went with my gut.”
Fujita fell behind 0-2 in the count before taking a ball. He hit the next pitch over the heads indrawn outfield scoring Porter from third and getting the Trojans the win.
Alex Kubal reached base in the sixth inning by an error by bBart Pettus. Senior Rob Brown threw two consecutive wild pitches and scored on a groundout off the bat of Josh Rutledge giving Bama the 3-2 lead.
Precise took matters into his own hands with a homerun deep over the wall in left in the bottom tying the game at 3-3.
With their backs against the wall, the Trojans answered the Tide rally with a run of their own in the eighth. Precise singled down the line in left followed by a single to shot form Pettus. Both runners moved up a base on a wild pitch. Bryant singled scoring Precise again tying the game.
Matthes and
Mike Powers went 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out two batters. Rob Brown followed Powers with 3 1/3 innings allowing two runs on one hit. He also struck out four batters.
Casey Kebodeaux went six innings and allowed three runs on eight Trojan hits. Austin Hyatt tossed the next two innings for the Tide allowing one run on three hits.
The Tide and Trojans will face-off again tomorrow night in
