Johnson Walk-Off Homer Wins Game One, 5-2

TROY, Ala. - The Troy Trojan softball team scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by Heidi Johnson's three-run walk-off home run, to defeat Florida International 5-2 in game one of Friday's doubleheader.

Troy fell 6-5 in game two to the Golden Panthers after two errors allowed three runs to score in the fifth inning.

Johnson was 1-for-3 with three RBI's in game one and Felicia Hammer (2-for-3) added a home run.

Ashlyn Williams (7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K) picked up the win, improving to 15-7 overall.

Game two: Troy battled back, but two errors in the fifth inning proved to be too much to overcome as Troy fell 6-5.

Three Trojan pitchers combined to allow six unearned runs with Rocky Paige (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 1 K) taking the loss and dropping to 0-3 on the season.

The two-three-four hitters for Troy had two hits a piece with Johnson knocking in two runs. Paige also had an RBI.
