Trojans Fall To UALR

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University Trojans men's tennis team battled fatigue and Arkansas-Little Rock Thursday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex, falling 6-1 to the visiting Trojans in Sun Belt Conference action.
Troy (4-8, 0-2) returned home late Wednesday night and into the morning hours of Thursday from Oxford and their match with fifth-ranked Ole Miss, before taking the court against UALR.
The visiting Trojans captured the doubles point when the number three team of Juan Carlos Nunez and German Perez defeated Troy's Guilherme Sahadi and Dai Edwards-Evans 8-3. The two teams split the first two doubles matches of the day, with the Trojans of Troy winning at number one and Arkansas-Little Rock winning at number two.
In singles play, Troy was able to win at number three when Benjamin Chomette recorded the only point of the day for Troy with a hard-fought three set victory over Arkansas-Little Rock's Edson Abrao. Chomette defeated the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5).
The Trojans return to action Saturday afternoon, facing 52nd-ranked Florida Atlantic at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
