Trojans Fall To 5th-Ranked Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. ? The Troy University Trojans faced a 90-minute weather delay, then the fifth-ranked Rebels of the University of Mississippi. After the weather delay, the match was moved indoors, where the Trojans fell 6-0 at the Gillom Sports Center.
Troy (4-7) turns their attention to Arkansas-Little Rock in Sun Belt Conference play this afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. Meanwhile, Ole Miss (12-3) will now turn its attention to a huge SEC showdown with No. 18 Florida Friday. The Rebels and Gators, tied for second in the overall conference standings.
With the match being played indoors, the two teams elected to play the singles first.
Mario Silva played at number one for the Trojans, falling to Erling Tveit in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. The Trojans fell behind 2-0 after the Rebels' Jonas Berg finished off Guilherme Sahadhi 6-3, 6-2 at number three singles, and the the deficit went to 3-0 when Ole Miss' Robbye Poole defeated Benjamin Chomette 6-1, 6-4 on court two. The match was clinched in singles play when Bastain Maucher fell to Kalle Norberg 6-2, 6-1 at number four singles.
