Troy Picks Up Two Wins on Day 2

OXFORD, Miss. - Seniors Jessica Lyle and Courtney Davis belted back-to-back home runs in the second inning to propel Troy to a 2-1 victory over Belmont and Lyle roped a two-run double in the eighth inning to give Troy a 2-0 win over Stephen F. Austin.
Cassie Lassiter picked up her second victory of the season in the circle for Troy (11-7), pitching them past Belmot. She completed four innings while allowing only one run and one hit with two strike outs and two walks.
Ashlyn Williams picked up her first save of the season with three innings of scoreless relief. She struck out five and walked none.
The two home runs were Troy's only hits. Katie Taber drew a walk for the Trojans.
Julie Harmon plated the lone run for Belmont (3-7).
Against Stephen F. Austin, Lyle would again come up clutch for the Trojans as she delivered a two-run double over the centerfielders head to give Troy a 2-0 lead over the Jacks in the eighth inning.
Ashlyn Williams picked up the victory for Troy improving to 9-3 on the season. She tossed her second career complete game shutout while scattering three hits and striking out 12 batters.
