Trojans Win Six Matches at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. - The Troy Trojans won six of their nine matches against Samford University on day two of the Auburn Classic, winning two doubles matches and four singles matches.
The Trojans took two of three doubles matches, winning in Flight One and Flight Two. The doubles team of Bastain Maucher and Mario Silva (2-0) won their second consecutive match of the tournament, defeating Samford's Brian Dushock and Kelwin DeWet 9-7 in Flight One. In Flight Two, the Trojans' team of Phil Janz and Benjamin Chomette (1-0) defeated Samford's Richard Walsh and Michael Browder, 8-5, while the team of Diego Martinez and Maxime Zamore fell 8-1.
In singles action, the Trojans and Samford split their eight matches. Troy won Flight Two when Chomette defeated Walsh 6-3, 6-7 (7-5), 6-0; while in Flight Four Maucher improved to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Samford's Oliver Reynolds 6-3, 6-1.
In Flight Seven, Martinez defeated Browder 6-2, 3-6, 10-5; while in Flight Eight Troy's Andrey Morozov defeated Samford's Adam Witcher 6-4, 6-2.
