USTA Tennis Classic of Troy Doubles Championship Set

The USTA Tennis Classic of Troy is getting close to wrapping up another year in the books. The doubles championship match-up has been set. Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears will take on Angela Haynes and Sunitha Rao for the doubles crown. The singles bracket has made it to the semi-finals round. Abigail Spears will face Anna Tatishvili, and Georgie Stoop will take on Melanie Oudin. The winners will advance to the USTA Tennis Classic of Troy Singles Championship.

Singles results from Friday:
Georgie Stoop defeated Nueza Silva 6-1, 6-0.
Melanie Oudin defeated Catalina Castano 7-6(3), 6-2.
Abigail Spears defeated Shenay Perry 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Anna Tatishvili defeated Ana Savic 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles results from Friday:
Top-seeded pair Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears defeated third-seeded pair Nueza Silva and Nicole Thyssen 7-6(5), 6-1.
Second-seeded pair Angela Haynes and Sunitha Rao defeated fourth-seeded pair Madison Brengle 6-2, 6-4.

Matches will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex in Troy. The doubles championship is set as the third match of the day.
