Trojans Take Two from Florida Atlantic

The Trojans improved to 32-10 and 11-3 in the Sun Belt while Florida Atlantic dropped to 23-19 and 5-6 in the conference.
In game one, Troy got to FAU starting pitcher for two early runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead.
FAU got on the board in the top of the second to cut the Trojan lead to 2-1, but that was all the scoring in the game as Troy won 2-1.
Angela Lopez (13-3) got the start and the win for the Trojans as she went the complete game and only allowing four hits and one earned run.
Jennifer Musillo (10-10) took the loss for the Owls. She went six innings giving up five hits and two earned runs.
Leading hitters for the Trojans were Stacey Dwyer who was two-for-three. Courtney Davis also had a hit for the Trojans as did Rocky Page and Felicia Hammer. Both Page and Hammer had one RBI. Heidi Johnson also had a homerun for the Trojans.
In game two, the Trojans took and early 4-0 lead and then a 5-2 lead on the visiting Owls. The Owls then tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the fifth courtesy of a two-run homerun by Amber Barton.
But Troy then got a homerun from Courtney Davis in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead 6-5 and then added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to hold on for the 7-5 win.
Angela Lopez picked up her second win of the day for the Trojans as she came in relief for starter Rocky Page.
The Trojans will be back in action tomorrow against the Owls at noon. Admission to all home softball games is free.
