Trojans to Take on Florida Atlantic

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University softball team will be at home this weekend when they take on Florida Atlantic on Friday and Saturday.

Troy trails Florida Atlantic in their all-time series, 6-16. The Trojans and Owls last played in 2005 with Troy taking two-of-three from FAU including eliminating them for the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament.

Troy (30-10, 9-3 SBC) is coming off a split with Georgia State on Tuesday. The Trojans won the first game 8-3 before losing the second game 6-0.

Junior Angela Lopez was named Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week last week for the Trojans after posting three wins including a no-hitter and a two-hit shutout both over Western Kentucky. She also defeated Florida A&M.

Florida Atlantic (23-17, 5-4 SBC) is coming off a 4-3 loss to Auburn on Wednesday.

Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday at the Trojan Softball Complex. Admission to all home softball games is free.
