Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Troy completed its best tournament of the 2006-07 season by shooting 306 Tuesday to finish sixth at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational. Combined with a 307 on Monday, the Trojans had their two lowest rounds of the year during the event enroute to a team score of 926.

UAB captured the team title with a score of 899, while Samford's Katelyn Stanier won a playoff for individual medalist at 218.

Desirae Zine tied for 12th at 226 (76-76-74), while Danielle Skipper posted her third straight 77 to tie for 19th (231). Charlotte Sundqvist was 24th at 233 (78-76-79), while Kaley Branton was one spot behind at 236 (76-84-76)..

Alyssa Laneuville rounded out the team scoring with her best round of the year, an 82, to finish 39th at 261 (90-89-82), while Sarah Weldon, playing as an individual, finished 42nd at 269 (88-88-93)..

The Trojans' final action of the season takes place April 16-18 in the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Disney Resort in Orlando,Fla.
