Trojans fall to Hawkeyes, 10-2

WOODSTOCK, Ga. - The Troy Trojans softball team dropped their final game of the Buzz Classic, losing to the Iowa Hawkeyes 10-2.
The Trojans' only runs came in the first inning when Brooke Powell singled home Jessica Lyle and Courtney Davis.
Troy (14-5) managed only one more hit the rest of the game, a second inning triple by Jessica Lyle. Lyle was two-for-three with a double, triple and a run scored.
Angela Lopez started the game and was followed by Michelle Grinage and Rocky Paige.
Grinage (2.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 0 K, 3 BB) was charged with the loss.
The Trojans return to action on Wednesday at 6 PM when they face in-state rivals the Auburn Tigers at the Trojan Softball Complex.
