Trojans Complete Sweep of FIU, 2-1

TROY, Ala. - The Troy Trojan softball team received yet another stellar pitching performance and some timely hitting as they defeated Florida International by a score of 2-1 to complete their three game sweep.
With the win Troy improves their record to 25-8 overall and 7-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.
Heather Rush and Angela Lopez combined to limit the Golden Panthers to six hits and one run.
Rush (5.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 3 K) picked up the win, her fifth of the season, while Lopez was credited with her second save.
Troy's scoring came in the third inning when Heidi Johnson knocked in Jessica Lyle and Amanda Ragans plated Stacey Dwyer.
Dwyer finished the game one-for-three with one RBI and one stolen base.
The victory maintains Troy's first-place tie in the Sun Belt Conference.
Troy will return to action on Tuesday in double-header action in Tallahassee, Fla. versus Florida A&M.
