In game one, Angela Lopez (now 9-3) put together another impressive outing for the Troy Trojans (24-8, 6-2 SBC), holding FIU (13-23, 1-4 SBC) to only one run on six hits while pitching a complete game and striking out five.
Brooke Powell and Jessica Lyle both had two hits and an RBI.
Felicia Hammer and Heidi Johnson also knocked in runs, Johnson's on her sixth home run of the season.
Game two saw the Trojans receive another solid pitching performance, this time from freshman Rocky Paige.
Paige (now 6-1) picked up the win with a complete game six hit effort. She allowed only the one run in eight innings.
Troy's only runs were scored in the eighth inning when pinch runner Kim Kelley and shortstop Kala Moore crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
Paige battled out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom half of the eighth to finish the game.
Troy and Florida International will meet for the final game of the series on Sunday at 11 am CST in Miami.
