Outfielder Heidi Johnson fueled the offense for Troy (20-8, 4-2 SBC) going two-for-five with two home runs, a two-run shot to center field in the fourth inning and a three-run blast in the fifth inning.
After surrendering a solo home run in the second inning, starting pitcher Heather Rush rallied and completed five innings with only the one run given up.
Rush (now 4-2) was credited with the victory. She re-entered the contest and pitched the final out of the seventh inning to finish the game.
Michelle Grinage relieved Rush and pitched one and two-thirds of an inning in relief.
Amanda Ragans (two-for-three) and Stacey Dwyer (one-for-four) each knocked in two runs on the day for the Trojans.
Louisiana-Monroe (13-19, 0-6 SBC) rallied in the seventh inning scoring three runs on three hits but ultimately fell short. The Warhawks stranded three on base in the frame.
The Trojans will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Huntsville, Ala. to face Alabama A&M for a double-header.
