Trojans split with UAB

The Trojans (17-7) were victorious in game one by a score of 4-2 and dropped game two in extra-innings, 3-1.
In game one, Angela Lopez (7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 7 K, 0 BB; now 6-3) picked up the victory, pitching a complete game.
The Blazers (17-12) led off game one with an Andrea Rogers two-run home run, her eight of the season.
Troy answered right back in the bottom half of the first when Courtney Davis launched a two-run home run to right center field that also scored Heidi Johnson. The home run was Davis' sixth of the campaign.
The tie was broken in the bottom of the seventh when Amanda Ragans planted her fourth home run of the season, a walk-off, outside the left field fence scoring herself and Kala Moore.
In game two, Troy scored early when Jessica Lyle doubled in Stacey Dwyer who stole second base after reaching on an error by the shortstop.
UAB would tie the game in the top half of the sixth after Lindsay Stanley singled off Troy starting pitcher Heather Rush's (8.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 8 K, 0 BB; now 2-2) glove and then stole second.
Stanley would score on a Holly Krzan single.
The game deciding runs would be scored in the eighth inning when Allison Davis tripled in Ashley Thomas followed by a Krzan single that would plate Davis.
Kayla Harris picked up the win for UAB pitching a complete game and allowing only one unearned run on five hits.
The Trojans will be in action again on Saturday when they host Louisiana-Monroe as their first home conference series of 2007. Troy will play a double-header on Saturday with the first game beginning at 1 p.m.
Troy will meet UL-Monroe for the final game of the three game series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
