Trojans wrap up fall season at Auburn Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - The Troy University men's tennis team wrapped up the fall season at the Auburn Fall Classic, falling to the host team on Sunday afternoon.
The Trojans fell in all six singles matches, with Bastain Maucher providing excitement in Flight A1. Maucher fell to Auburn's Lukas Marsoun 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3); while teammate Benjamin Chomette fell to Alexey Tysrenov 6-1, 6-2 in Flight A1. In Flight A2, Guillerme Sahadi fell to 1-2 in the tournament with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Auburn's Pawel Dilaj;l while teammate Marko Zivkovic fell 6-0, 6-2 to Alex Petropoulos 6-0, 6-2. In the final flight of the afternoon (Flight B1), Diego Martinez fell to Auburn's Nick Maurillo 7-6, 6-3; while teammate Edwin van Aerts fell to Michel Monteiro 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles action, the team of Chomette-Maucher fell to Auburn's Tysrenov-Nugent 8-5; while the team of Martinez-Sahadi fell to Auburn's Petropoulos-Dilaj 8-4 in Flight A. In Flight B, the team of van Aerts-Zickovic fell to Auburn's Marsoun-Monteiro 8-4.
Troy opens the regular season against the University of Alabama on January 26.
