Troy falls in Day One of Auburn Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - The Troy men's tennis team fell to Louisiana State University in day one of the Auburn Fall Classic at the City of Auburn/Auburn University Yarbrough Tennis Center.
In singles competition, Benjamin Chomette fell to Jan Zelezney of LSU 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 in Flight A1. Teammate Bastain Maucher fell to 53rd-ranked Kevin Dessauer 6-2, 6-1 in Flight A1. In other singles action, both Guilherme Sahadi and Diego Martinez both lost in Flight A2. Sahadi fell to Sebastian Carlsson 6-2, 6-3; while Martinez fell to Julien Gauthier 6-0, 6-0.
Marko Zivkovic and Edwin van Aerts closed out singles competition in Flight B1. Zivkovic fell to Martel Campbell 6-1, 6-1; while teammate van Aerts fell to Ryan Lissner 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles competition, the team of Maucher-Chomette fell to the team Zelezney-Dessaur of LSU 9-8 (1), while the team of Martinez-Sahadi fell to Cluskey and Gauthier 8-2. The only other match of the afternoon saw the team of van Aerts-Zivkovic fall to Gaston-Carlsson 8-1 in Flight B.
The tournament continues through the weekend with the Trojans facing Auburn and South Carolina in their final tournament of the fall season.
