Trojans conclude Southern Miss Fall Invitational

Hattiesburg, Miss. -- The Troy University men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend of competition at the 2007 Southern Miss Invitational on Sunday.

Participants from this tournament included Southern Miss, Southeastern Louisiana, UAB, Alabama and Arkansas-Little Rock

Benjamin Chomette, Marko Zivkovic, and Edwin Van Aerts ended the first day capturing a handful singles wins. Van Aerts beat Wade Covington and Will Thames of Southern Miss. Chomette beat Ondrej Kriva of SLU 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 and Zivkovic defeated Pavol Derkay of SLU, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Benjamin Chomette and Bastian Maucher wrapped up Sunday with two singles wins against UALR. Chomette defeated Dorian Sovic 7-5, 6-2 and Maucher overcame German Perez 6-4, 6-4.

Troy was shutout by UAB, USA and UA but managed to capture seven wins in the tournament.

The tournament was hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi.
