Women's Golf Ties for Ninth at ULM/Fred Marx Intercollegiate

MONROE, La. -- Redshirt freshman Charlotte Sundqvist carded a 75 -- her lowest collegiate round -- Tuesday to finish 12th at the ULM/Fred Marx Intercollegiate. She finished with a 16-over par 233 in the Trojans' first tournament of the season
McNeese State won the team title at 906, while Louisiana-Monroe's Angela Drane won medalist honors at two-over 218. Troy bettered itself each round with scores of 345-339-334 (1,018 total strokes) over the 54-hole event.
We played a lot better today," head coach Matt Terry said. "I saw a lot of progress each round. I think this is the best putting women's team I have had in my tenure at Troy. I am really excited to have the season underway."
True freshman Kaley Branton and sophomore Danielle Skipper tied each other for 31st place at 245. Branton added an 83 to her 80-82 Monday, while Skipper stands rebounded with a 76 after rounds of 88 and 81.
Sarah Weldon rounded out the scoring in 57th place with a 295. She carded rounds of 96, 99 and 100.
Troy returns to action Oct. 16-17 at the JSU Lady Gamecock Fall Classic.
