Trojans Top UNF in Regular-Season Finale

The Trojans swept the doubles play to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The 50th-ranked team of Claudia Strauss and Tsitsi Masviba defeated Catalina Castillo and Florencia Torres 8-2 in the No. 1 position. Rawia Elsisi and Annabelle Bares defeated Lauren Cockbill and Katja Brandt 8-3 in the No. 2 spot, and Caroline Jouanin and Shamiaa Elsisi defeated Robin Rogers and Vanessa Sanches 9-8 in the No. 3 position.
Masviba picked up a win in the No. 2 position in her final home match with the Trojans. The senior moved to 16-1 in singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Castillo.
UNF brought the match to 2-1 when Rogers defeated Jouanin 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 position.
Rawia Elsisi put Troy up 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Sanchez in the No. 1 position, and Strauss clinched the win for the Trojans with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Torres in the No. 3 spot.
I'm really proud of Tsitsi. She converted both her singles and doubles matches in her last match here,” Troy head coach Eric Hayes said.
The Trojans will return to action in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament hosted by South Alabama on April 20.
