Johnson Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

At the Mercer Nissan Invitational, Johnson broke the school record for RBIs in a game with eight against South Florida on Saturday. Also against the Bulls, Johnson hit two home runs, one of which was a grand slam as Troy won 17-5.
On Sunday in the championship game against host Mercer, Johnson hit a solo home run to help the Trojans win that game 6-3. She ended the game with the Bears three for four with two RBIs, a double and a home run.
Johnson ended the tournament with a batting average of .529, nine hits, three doubles, three home runs, 12 RBIs and scored five runs. She also had a slugging percentage of 1.235 and an on-base percentage of .529.
For the season, Johnson has a batting average of .256, 23 hits, five home runs, five doubles, 17 RBIs and has scored 14 runs. She also has a slugging percentage of .478.
The league office named Sarah Belanger of Florida International Pitcher of the Week for her performance at Florida A&M.
Troy will be back in action on Tuesday when it will play at home for the first time since March 1. The Trojans will play host to Georgia Southern for a doubleheader with the first pitch set for 3 p.m. Live stats will be available for Tuesday's game and admission to all home softball games is free.
