Trojans Ready for Doubleheader with Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University softball team will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Wednesday for a doubleheader with Southern Mississippi.
The Trojans (15-18) are looking ahead after losing a close game on Sunday with Illinois-Chicago (8-18) when they were unable to comeback from a three-run home run and dropped the game, 3-1.
This will be the first meeting between the Trojans and the Golden Eagles (15-18).
Sophomore Jessica Lyle is still the offensive leader for Troy with a batting average of .321, 27 hits, five doubles, four triples and eight RBIs. Lyle also has a slugging percentage of .476 and an on base percentage of .424. Defensively, she has 180 put outs and 11 assists.
The first pitch on Wed. is set for 5 p.m. with the second game to follow 20 minutes later.
