Trojans Finish Tenth at JSU Grub Mart Intercollegiate

GADSDEN, Ala. -- Troy cut two strokes off its first round score Tuesday, shooting a 298 to finish 10th at the JSU Grub Mart Intercollegiate. The Trojans posted a team score of 598, 23 strokes behind winner and host Jacksonville State.
Donnie Parker tied for ninth with a score of 145 (71-74), while Michael McGrady (75-76) and David Rasco (78-73) tied for 39th at 159. Steve Sims (76-78) and Jake Brodhead (79-75) tied for 51st at 154.
Two Trojans competed as individuals with both tying for 51st at 154. Wes Parker posted rounds of 74 and 80, while Jay Harris shot 75 and 79.
New Orleans' Kenji Murayama rode his opening round 65, a tournament record, to a one shot win in the individual race. He finished at five-under 139 (65-74).
Troy takes off until April 9, when it begins play at the Arkansas State Indian Classic.
