Trojans Ranked No. 73 in ITA Fila Rankings

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University women's tennis team is ranked No. 73 in the ITA Fila Tennis Rankings announced on Tuesday. It is the first time the Trojans have been nationally ranked since being ranked No. 65 in March 2003.

It's nice to be recognized nationally, but the rankings matter most at the end of the year,” Troy head coach Eric Hayes said.

Troy joins No. 72 Houston as the only teams to move into the rankings after not being ranked last week.

The Trojans are 1-0 on the season, topping No. 33 Mississippi State 4-3 in Starkville in their only match of the season. The Trojans return to action on Feb. 17 when they host Middle Tennessee.
