McGrady Captures Medalist Honors at Samford Intercollegiate

ONEONTA, Ala. -- Michael McGrady posted rounds of 68 and 71 Tuesday to capture medalist honors at Troy's opening tournament of the spring season, the Samford Intercollegiate. As a team, the Trojans climbed all the way from 10th to second with scores of four-under 284 and 295, finishing two strokes behind Belmont (889).
Jay Harris tied for fifth in the individual standings with a score of 220 (79-68-73/+4), while David Rasco tied for 31st at 232 (81-75-76/+16). Jake Brodhead was tied for 35th at 233 (85-73-75/+17), while Steve Sims rounded out the scoring with a 27-over 243 (80-78-85/t66th).
"I was pleased with the way we came back after a tough first day," said head coach Matt Terry. "This is a great way to start the spring season.".
The Trojans return to action on Thursday when it begins play in the Dick Wittcoff/USF Invitational, hosted by South Florida in Tampa, Fla.
