MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- South Alabama held on to the five-shot lead it built Monday to win its third straight fall tournament Tuesday at the Troy Women's Invitational at Arrowhead Country Club. The Jaguars posted a score of 587 (292-295), five shots ahead of Louisiana-Monroe.
After yielding just one sub-par round on Monday, Arrowhead Country Club saw five players post red numbers for the second 18 holes.

Also at 142 were Jenny Henderson of Northern Colorado (76-69), Marylou Soltesz of Louisiana-Monroe (73-72) and Jacksonville State's Manuela Tarazona (77-68)..
In its final round of the fall season Tuesday, Troy posted its best number of the year -- 318 -- to finish 14th among the 15 teams. Kaley Branton tied for 42nd at 158 (81-77), while Sarah Weldon rounded out the scoring at 189 (98-91/75th)..
"It was fun being closer to Troy for a change," Sundqvist said. "It made me want to play better because it was our home tournament. My putting could have been better, but my driver is finally working. I have started to hit it well. It makes me ready to play better next semester."
The spring season begins Feb. 12-13 when the Trojans compete in McNeese State's tournament.
