Morales Captures USF Title

Morales opened play on Friday with a 6-3, 6-3 win over UCF's Sinan Sunas. In the Gold Flight semifinals, Morales topped Marc Jaeger of USF 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. The second game of that match would be the only game that Morales dropped in the tournament.
In the Gold Flight finals, Morales defeated UCF's Brock Sakey 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the tournament finals. Morales earned the tournament title when Green Flight bracket winner Dirk Britzen of USF defaulted due to injury.
Pasqual Duttlinger and Thiago Pasos also participated in the tournament for Troy. Duttlinger won his opening match 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 over UCF's Tarek Bensoltane. He fell in the Green Flight semifinals to Miami's John Hoyes, 7-6, 6-2.
Pasos fell 6-0, 6-0 to Britzen in his opening match. He then lost 6-0, 6-3 to Norman Alcantara from UCF.
This was a great way for Irving to start his fall season,” Troy head coach Eric Hayes said. This was a legitimate field, with three nationally-ranked schools participating. This was a good start overall for our program.”
