OXFORD, Miss. - Three members of the Troy University women's tennis team will launch their fall seasons this weekend when they compete in the Ole Miss Fall Classic starting on Friday.
Tsitsi Masviba, Suzanne Jones and Annabelle Bares will compete against athletes from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, South Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe, Jacksonville State, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee Tech and Samford in the three-day event.
Masviba is returning for her senior season with the Trojans. As a junior, she competed mainly in the No. 1 position and finished with a 9-7 record in singles play in the spring. Jones saw most of her action in the No. 2 spot, and the junior finished at 10-5 in the spring. Masviba and Jones were both selected to the Atlantic Sun's All-Conference second team in 2005.
Bares is the only newcomer to the Troy squad in 2005-06. The freshman from France is expected to make an immediate impact on the Trojans' season.
Play begins each day at 8 a.m., starting on Friday and continuing on Saturday and Sunday.
