Sherwood Leaving Trojans For Position at College of Charleston

Troy University head softball coach Melanie Davis has announced that long-time assistant coach Barbara Sherwood has resigned to accept a coaching position at the College of Charleston.

"Barbara has been a major part of the success of this program, as both a player and coach, for 11 years," Davis said. "She was on our first conference championship team and she helped lead our team to the A-Sun title last season. She has been an integral component of our program's success through the years."

Sherwood's move to the College of Charleston will allow her to continue her coaching career while, at the same time, pursue her doctorate. Sherwood has worked with pitchers and catchers for the Trojans while also serving as recruiting coordinator. She was a catcher during her playing days and also lettered in volleyball.
