Trojans Top BSC in Final Regular-Season Match

Birmingham, Ala. - The Troy University women's tennis team topped in-state rival Birmingham-Southern 4-3 in its final match of the regular season.

Troy fell behind 1-0 after losing the doubles point to the Panthers. Tsitsi Masviba, Suzanne Jones, Shamiaa Elsisi and Nicole Shaw provided four wins in singles play for the Trojans, securing the win for Troy.

After we lost the doubles point, I challenged the girls to show heart, and they really responded well,” said Troy head coach Eric Hayes. This was a good win over a solid team, and we need to build off it next week in the Atlantic Sun Tournament.”

The Atlantic Sun Tournament opens on Thursday in DeLand, Fla. at Stetson University. The winner earns a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
