That would prove to be the final as Troy was unable to score any runs. Glaser was credited with the win which improved her record to 4-3. Kacie Flinn was credited with the loss going seven innings striking out six and giving up only two hits.
It was in Troy's next game that history would be made. Sophomore Pitcher Jocelyn McCallum would take the mound against Cornell needing only 15 strikeouts to tie the single season record for strikeouts in a season. She got 16.
In breaking the record for strikeouts in a game McCallum broke the record for strikeouts in a season. The record had been previously held by Kacie Flinn, who struck 145 batters out in her 2003 campaign.
Troy took the lead in the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Sophomore Tara Blackwell reached base on a fielder's choice and then stole second to get into scoring position for the Trojans. Catcher Tamra Howren was then intentionally walked bringing Senior Bonnie Belin to the plate. Belin singled to centerfield to score Blackwell and the Trojans held a 1-0 lead after five.
The Trojans added another run in the bottom of the sixth. Junior Sally Jones led off the inning with a single to left. Rightfielder Stacey Dwyer laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Jones to second. Jones came around to score on an error by Cornell's shortstop giving Troy a 2-0 lead. That would be all the runs Troy would need as they won the game 2-0.
