STARKVILLE, Miss. - Troy University Softball fell to the Bulldogs of Mississippi State by the score of 3-0 at the 2005 Bulldog Classic. The Bulldogs racked up 11 hits while the Trojan offense only managed three.

I'm very disappointed that we were unable to climb out of the hole we dug for ourselves,” said Trojans Head Coach Melanie Davis. Mississippi State's bats were too much for us to handle at that point.”
The Bulldogs held their 3-0 lead through the top of the seventh when the Trojans came up to bat looking for a late rally. Sophomore Amanda Ragans reached first base on an error by MSU's Courtney Bures. Third baseman Brittany Krbec flew out to the right fielder and Stacey Dwyer hit into a double play to end the inning and the game for the Trojans.
The loss was the second straight for the Trojans who fell to 10-3. Kacie Flinn got the loss and had her record go to 3-2.
Troy will look to rebound Sunday as it finishes out the 2005 Bulldog Classic. Game times are still to be determined due to expected rain storms.
