Women's Golf Team Hosts Invitational Monday and Tuesday

For the first time in several years, the Troy University women's golf team will be playing in a tournament as the home team. The inaugural Troy Women's Invitational takes place Monday and Tuesday at Lagoon Park Golf Course in Montgomery.
The 11-team, 61-player field include participants from Sun Belt Conference foes New Orleans and South Alabama, Centenary, Lipscomb, Belmont, Southern Miss, Nicholls State, Samford, Louisiana-Monroe, Kennesaw State and the host Trojans.
Senior Shauna McVeigh leads the Trojans this season with a scoring average of 75.7. She has two top 10 finishes this fall, including a thrid-place standing at the Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate. Also competing for Troy this week are Katelyn Crosson, Danielle Skipper, Kristy Stephens and Sam Kreiger.
Play begins at 8 a.m Monday with 18 holes. Three teams tee off at a time in eight-minute increments. The final tee time is 10:40 a.m. Tuesday's final round begins at 8 a.m. on the first and tenth tees.
