McVeigh Ties For Third at Great Smokies Intercollegiate

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. -- Shauna McVeigh shot a three-under par 69 on Sunday to finish in a three-way tie for third at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate. The Trojans struggled to a 317 in the final round to drop to 18th place among 24 teams at 622.
McVeigh carded an even-par 72 on Saturday for a final score of 141, seven strokes behind medalist Ashley Hovda of Western Carolina. The host Catamounts won the team competition for the fourth straight year with a score of even-par 576.
Kristy Stephens tied for 70th at 155 (75-80), two strokes ahead of Katelyn Crosson (77-80/t79). Danielle Skipper added an 88 on Sunday to her opening round 81 to tie for 111th at 169. Redshirt freshman Sam Krieger finished 122nd at 199 (100-99).
The Trojans return to action next Monday at the JSU Lady Gamecock Fall Classic.
