Trojans claim fourth at BSC, Place two in top 10

Lew Mitchell, who sat in a tie for the lead after Monday's first two rounds, carded a four-over-par 76 on Tuesday to claim ninth place in the 80-golfer field with a three-round score of 214, one shot behind Parker. The Trojans shot a team score of 289, tied with Samford for the second-lowest score of the day, to hold onto fourth place in the 14-team tournament that was hosted by Birmingham-Southern.
Parker, after shooting a 69 and a 74 in Monday's first two rounds, turned in a 70 on Tuesday, tying him for the third-lowest score of the day. He finished the tournament with a score of 213, tying him with Robert Dinwiddie of Tennessee State and Belmont's Jeff Lanier. Tournament champion Tennessee-Chattanooga's Bryce Ledford won the individual honors after shooting a five-under 67 in the final round.
The Trojans finished six shots behind third-place Samford and nine shots behind Belmont in second. UT-Chattanooga won the event with a team score of 854.
Steve Sims shot a 54-hole total of 220 jumped into a 26th-place tie for Troy, while Ben Moody (225) finished 42nd after a final-round 72. David Rasco (227) rounded out the field for the Trojans in 51st after shooting a 76 on Tuesday.
