Silicon Valley Football Classic Executive Director Chris Hutchins was in Troy on Thursday to kickoff the Trojans ticket campaign. More than 300 rowdy Trojans supporters jammed the ballroom of the Trojan Center for a pep rally in support of the team.
Coach Blakeney was awarded a key to the City of Troy by Mayor Jimmy Lunsford at the rally.
"It is a great reward for these kids, who worked and struggled so hard throughout the year," head football coach Larry Blakeney said. "This gives us another chance to make an impression on the national scene. We had a good feeling things were shaping up well for us to go somewhere, but now that we are in we are excited for ourselves, all of Troy University and it's supporters."
Tickets for the game will be available through the Troy University Athetics Ticket Office.
Troy (7-4) and the Huskies (8-3) will meet for the first time on the gridiron. The game is scheduled for a 10 p.m. (CST) kickoff and will be televised by ESPN.
