Ray posted his third consecutive Friday night victory while also posting his first career complete game, and first career shutout. The junior was matched in a scoreless game with SEMO left-hander Jordan Underwood, who defeated ULL opening day, before the Trojans broke through with a pair of runs in the seventh inning. Ray got stronger as the game went on. After getting a double play to end the fifth inning, he retired the Redhawks in order in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. After surrendering a leadoff walk, his only free pass of the game, in the ninth, he got a strikeout and a game-ending 8-3 double play to clinch the shutout. Ray allowed just four hits in the game and only two SEMO players reached second base. He struck out six and needed just 114 pitches to go the distance. Ray is now 3-0 on the year with a 1.61 ERA in 22 1/3 innings of work.
