JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Troy went on the road to in-state rival Jacksonville State and came away with a 5-2 victory over the Gamecocks behind strong singles play and winning the doubles point.

Troy (8-1) improved to 22-1 the last two seasons when winning the doubles point after winning on courts two and three. Carles Anton and Mario Martinez Serrano came up with a 6-4 win on court two and the pair of Noah Martens and Benjamin Ambrosio followed minutes later with a 6-3 win on court three to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.

Serrano moved to 9-0 on the year on court one with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the nation's No. 64 ranked player, Ivan Marrero Curbelo, to give Troy a 2-0 advantage. Yeray Andres Pastor also remained undefeated during dual matches, thanks to a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court five and Carles Anton clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court two.

Noah Martens picked up Troy's fifth point with a three-set victory on court three, while the Gamecocks (3-4) won on courts four and six.

Troy returns to action Sunday at North Alabama.
