FLORENCE, Ala. – Troy men's tennis dropped a tough 4-3 decision at North Alabama on Sunday afternoon at the UNA Tennis Complex.

Troy (8-2) and UNA (5-3) split the singles matches, but the Lions won a pair of 6-4 matches in doubles to win the deciding point; Troy's two losses this season have both come by a 1-point margin, and the Trojans are now 5-8 the last two years when losing the doubles point.

Mario Martinez Serrano moved to 10-0 in singles, all on the top court, with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Alberto Altur; he is now 33-3 in his career in dual match singles, with 32 of the wins coming on court one.

UNA took a 2-0 lead with a win on court four before Martinez's victory made it 2-1. However, the Lions won on court six to pull within a point of clinching, but Carles Anton won his third straight match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory on court two to close the gap to 3-2.

The Lions clinched the victory with a three-set win on court five, as Yeray Andres Pastor lost for the first time this spring. Noah Martens closed out the match for the Trojans with a three-set win on court three after dropping the opening set.

Troy travels to Tampa, Fla., to take on South Florida on Saturday.
