TROY, Ala. – For the third straight year, Troy Athletics is proud to announce the First Pitch Banquet is back to support and recognize the baseball and softball programs. This year, the event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, in Trojan Arena from 6-8:30 p.m.
Head baseball coach Skylar Meade and head softball coach Eric Newell headline the event. All fans in attendance have the opportunity to bid on exclusive Troy memorabilia, unique game day experiences and more in a silent auction. Additionally, Barry McKnight will open the microphone and engage with three players from each program in a sit-down question-and-answer session. Attendees also have the unique opportunity to sit, eat and mingle with players and coaches from both teams.
"The third edition of our First Pitch Banquet is truly the kickoff to the baseball season," Meade said. "We have our first team practice, compete for 3 hours, and then head to Trojan Arena for a fun-filled evening. This a great opportunity for friends, family, and Trojan supporters to show up and get their first taste of what the 2024 season has in store. We will have great auction items, interviews with our current players and early insight into the excitement ahead starting at RPF on Feb. 16. Make sure you get your tickets early to attend this yearly rite of passage for both Troy softball and baseball."
Those wishing to attend the banquet can purchase individual tickets for $85 or an entire table (eight seats) for $650 – a baseball and softball team member will be seated at each table. Table sponsorships are also available for $1,000, which includes one table and recognition at the banquet via the ribbon boards and video board. Dinner and drinks are included with the price of each ticket.
"We are thrilled to partner with baseball for the First Pitch Banquet," Newell said. "It is always a day of fun, excitement and fellowship. This event is not only a great way to show support for each of the respective programs, but it also provides an avenue for the players and coaches to get to know and interact with friends of the program. It is a night that we all look forward to."
To purchase your tickets, please visit TroyTrojans.com/FirstPitch or contact Ryan Kay via email at akay@troy.edu or by phone at 334-670-3681. All proceeds from the banquet will be shared between the two programs.
