TROY, Ala. -Â Efe Odigie continues to add to his season accolades, receiving All-District 23 Second Team honors, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Tuesday.
Â
"We are very happy that Efe received some more postseason recognition," head coach Scott Cross said. "NABC All-District 2nd Team is a huge honor, and Efe is extremely deserving of it because of work ethic & perseverance. Efe has fought through injuries all year long & has worked very hard both in practice and on his own to take his game to the next level. He has been a huge part of our success this season, so I am fired up that he is receiving the recognition that he deserves."
Â
Coming from UTEP after three seasons, Odigie immediately stamped his name in the Troy record books, leading a 20-win team in scoring with 11.6 points per game.
Â
Odigie posted six double-doubles, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game through 27 starts - played in 30 games.
Â
This accolade becomes the fourth Odigie has earned this season, having claimed All-Sun Belt First Team, Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.
Â
The Houston native shot a fifth-best (SBC) 81 percent from the charity stripe. His 11.6 points and 6.6 rebounds were enough to place him 19th and seventh in the conference, respectively.

The Trojans enter the College Basketball Invitational on Sunday against Abilene Christian with Odigie at the helm as the team enters the postseason for the first time in five years.
